Happy New Year!  I know we’re already three weeks in, but it’s still the first month of the new year and what better time to bring up the topic of achieving your goals than after statistically 23% already gave up and two weeks before 43% will give up?

I had written before about the start of the new year and would like to restate a quote from it:

“Don’t confine your opportunity to take action to the month of January and fool yourself into believing there’s just one shot every year. “

It’s so easy to be derailed from your path and not even try to find your way back.  As I wrote in my last blog entry, I wanted to share the journey to connect with myself to build trust with those I want to serve.  I started by finally shooting and editing two episodes of a YouTube show I conceived two years ago (as a way to show who I am and how I approach my work) but couldn’t get it started because of doubts and fears.  Once they were completed, I started feeling good about myself again and was ready to start the next episode, until a family health emergency and two family deaths stopped everything.  After that and Christmas and New Years, I was depleted in every way.  The momentum I started in early December had dissipated.

Just like a runner trying to start without warming up, it’s hard.  Your muscles and lungs hurt with each step.  I used distractions and prioritizing easier tasks to not start writing my next script and gathering the visual materials I needed because I knew it would be hard.

Fortunately, my past experience as a runner reminded me that the pain from starting cold does eventually melt away once you’re in your groove and build momentum.

Quoting a live version of U2’s New Year’s Day ending with slightly different lyrics, “I, I can begin again, again, again, again .”

Tomorrow I will begin my Episode 3 script, I will continue to pursue my purpose through my talents and abilities and will try again and again until I succeed.  At this point in my life, that inner voice calling me to seek and find the way is too strong and persistent to ignore.

Transformational Coach Jeanine Thomson in her article, 911 From Your Soul…Will You answer the Call? wrote:

So, if you are feeling the pull … If you are hearing the whisper … If you are at a critical point of choice in your life, and you’re being called forward into the unknown … your Soul is speaking and inviting you to embark on a quest. Not the kind that will take you to a far-away landscape where your current life seems only a dream, but one that will take you deeper into yourself.

You are more than you know yourself to be. You are limitless, infinite, and whole.

Now is your time to answer the call. For you, for others and for all of humanity.

You can also begin again and again until you succeed.

Keep this quote in your mind from my New Years blog in 2019 and begin again, no matter what day of the year.
